I studied drawing, calligraphy, and design at Massachusetts College of Art and went on to earn a Master of Architecture from MIT. Working in Cambridge and New York City, I obtained my professional license in 1989.
In my first ten years of practice I designed everything from specialized play equipment for disabled children…to custom neon signage…to thoughtful, compassionate public institutions…to new suburban and urban condominium design. This array of experience has enriched the frame of reference for all my design work.
For the last umpteen years I have focused exclusively on domestic architecture in Fairfield County. I approach each project with the expectation that my client brings their own valuable point of view and that their project is the most important one - no matter the size or budget.
I am the author of four books published by The Taunton Press that focus on various aspects of domestic design.
I serve as Secretary on the Zoning Board of Appeals in Fairfield, and am familiar with residential zoning regulations in most Fairfield County communities.
In 2014 I opened my own architectural practice, TipTop Architecture + Ideas. Based in Fairfield, Connecticut, I specialize in residential design: renovations, additions, kitchens and baths, new homes, and outbuildings.
I invite you to give me a call or send me an email to schedule a meeting.
